ImViz is an iOS utility that extracts text from photos, PDFs, and text files (OCR) and lets you copy or share the result.
ImViz does not collect, store, process, or share any personal data.
The app:
All functionality runs locally on your device.
ImViz uses the system photo picker and the system file picker, so the app receives only the specific items you choose. It never gets access to your full photo library or file system.
Text recognition is performed entirely on-device with Apple’s Vision framework. Recognized text is kept in memory for the duration of the session, and the file you export is written to the app’s temporary folder inside its sandbox so you can share it. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The app stores a few counters on your device: how many documents you have processed under the free tier, how many recognitions have completed successfully (used only to decide when to show the system review prompt), and whether the ImViz Pro upgrade has been purchased. These values stay on the device and are not linked to your identity.
The optional ImViz Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. ImViz does not receive or store any payment information or personal details related to the purchase.
If this policy changes in the future, updates will be posted on this page.
